It’s extremely challenging, even with Tiger at the height of his powers. Our favorite is Tiger at The Masters, where replicating – or besting – each of Tiger’s four Masters wins over the entire four days is the objective. There are several ways to soak in everything the stately Georgian course has to offer. Augusta National feels alive, in a perpetual state of spring. EA clearly took its job seriously, too, as each hole is lovingly crafted to a level of detail we’ve never seen. The course hasn’t been available to play in any format for many years, and it’s the closest most of us will ever get to experiencing it. On the whole, though, Tiger Woods PGA Tour 12 is a highly enjoyable iPhone sports sim, and a must-have for any gamer who likes golf.So it goes in Tiger Woods 12, or, as it could be called, “EA Sports Presents Augusta National and a Whole Bunch of Other Courses that Aren’t Nearly as Important.” The reverence displayed for the ultra-exclusive course that hosts the annual Masters tournament is palpable, as well it should be. Commentary pops up very infrequently and when it does it's not particularly insightful. Such a shame then that the in-game commentary is so poor. From the in-game menus to the on-course action, the visuals in Tiger Woods PGA Tour 12 are gleaming. Sure, hitting the ball sweetly isn't easy to master but with enough practice and upgrading your skills you'll appreciate the benefit of having such a precise control system.Īs you'd expect, graphically, Tiger Woods is impeccable. The swipe to swing system works very well, as does the way you can spin the ball while it's in flight. In terms of its gameplay Tiger Woods PGA Tour 12 is excellent.
You can create your own golfer too, using the easy-to-use editor. Tiger Woods PGA Tour 12 features eight different real life courses and eight professionals from the Tour. These are good fun but it would've been nice to have seen full, real time online multiplayer and Game Center support in there. You can play rounds locally over WiFi or Bluetooth, or, interestingly, tackle your Facebook friends in a nearest the pin competition. There are some multiplayer options in Tiger Woods PGA Tour 12, too. The Play Now menu allows you to play a single round, whether it be stroke play, match play, skins, stapleford, etc. Other game modes in Tiger Woods PGA Tour 12 include the Tiger Challenge, which consists of a series of quicker mini games with money at stake.
